In the cabinet meeting on Wednesday, the West Bengal government approved a proposal to establish a solar energy plant in Gwalatod, with a project cost of ₹600 crore. The state government will contribute ₹200 crore towards the development of the plant. The tender for this project has been awarded to a German company, which will be responsible for its execution. This initiative is part of the state's ongoing efforts to enhance its renewable energy infrastructure and contribute to sustainable energy solutions. Minister Manas Bhuiyan confirmed the approval and highlighted the project’s potential to strengthen the state’s energy capacity.
